Our Church

The Community Church of New Hope and Faith was founded on January 16, 1972, by Mother Lonie McNeal following prayer, fasting, and divine revelation. Beginning in a small storefront on North 39th Street in Philadelphia, the church quickly grew under the leadership of Minister James McNeal Jr., who was later consecrated as Bishop. As the congregation expanded, New Hope and Faith became an independent ministry, established the National Christian Fellowship Conference (NCFC), and moved into a permanent sanctuary on the same site where God had first planted the vision.

A Pentecostal church with Pentecostal and Apostolic roots, New Hope and Faith is committed to Christian unity, family fellowship, and ministering to the whole person. After the transition of Bishop James McNeal Jr. in 2019, Elder Gregory A. Wilson Sr. was consecrated as Presiding Bishop. Through faithful leadership, innovation, and community outreach, the church continues not only to endure but to thrive—standing as a testimony that we have come this far by faith.
